THE BUZZ: I am one of those people who feels that Tim Burton's artistic vision is directly in line with Lewis Carroll's novels, and he is one of few filmmakers who can get away with asserting that a likable movie adaptation has never been made of this story. It is, of course, interesting to hear this from the man who made Charlie and the Chocolate Factory ...

Green Zone (2010) -- If the upcoming film "Green Zone," which stars Matt Damon, seems all too authentic, that's because the actors playing U.S. soldiers already held the roles in real life. Allen Pizzey reports.

THE BUZZ: Entertainment writers are worked up about (1) Universal's box-office slump and (2) the studio's decision to move Green Zone out of the 2009 Oscar zone. To me, this is a sign that the movie actually might be entertaining and not some bore, a la most every other recent Iraq War picture aside from The Hurt Locker.

Remember Me

Remember Me

Director: Allen Coulter
Stars: Robert Pattinson, Emilie de Ravin (Full Cast)
Studio: Summit Entertainment

The Plot: A romantic drama centered on two new lovers: Tyler (Pattinson), whose parents have split in the wake of his brother's suicide, and Ally (de Ravin), who lives each day to the fullest since witnessing her mother's murder.

Remember Me (2010) -- A drama centered on two lovers whose newfound relationship is threatened as they try to cope with their respective family tragedies.
Remember Me (2010) -- kino-zeit.de - Trailer (Flash)

THE BUZZ: You know, RPattz's Little Ashes performed well given its subject matter and lack of major-studio muscle. It's quite possible a romantic story with a relatable premise (sorry, How to Be) from the studio that brought us Edward Cullen could lure plenty of the Twilight audience into theaters over Valentine's Day weekend and beyond. Good thing there was a seasoned cast and crew on what was widely reported as a difficult NYC shoot, given the thousands of fans who tracked R.P.'s every move. I'm also interested to see what Rachel Getting Married screenwriter Jenny Lumet has to say in her second outing.

She's Out of My League

She's Out of My League

Director: Jim Field Smith
Stars: Jay Baruchel, Alice Eve (Full Cast)
Studio: DreamWorks SKG

The Plot: A guy (Baruchel) lets his insecurities pick away at his fledgling relationship with the perfect gal (Eve).

THE BUZZ: Someone please help me understand why DreamWorks/Paramount execs think that a romantic comedy with no known stars, a green director, and a screenplay from the guys behind Sex Drive is a money-making idea. (Note: We'd love to be surprised about this movie's quality and proved wrong about its chances for success.)

Greenberg

Greenberg [limited]

Director: Noah Baumbach
Stars: Ben Stiller, Greta Gerwig, Jennifer Jason Leigh (Full Cast)
Studio: Focus Features

The Plot: A jobless New Yorker (Stiller) moves to Los Angeles in order to figure out his life while he housesits for his brother. He soon sparks with his brother's assistant (Gerwig), a musician and somewhat of a lost soul herself.

THE BUZZ: Mumblecore goes semi-mainstream with a hipster director and a star we always like best in indie mode. The notes the trailer strikes are precious and twee, but we imagine the entire story is a bit more nuanced than that. However, that doesn't stop us from wondering if this is trying (really hard) to be American Beauty for the newly unemployed generation.

Our Family Wedding

Our Family Wedding

Director: Rick Famuyiwa
Stars: America Ferrera, Forest Whitaker, Carlos Mencia (Full Cast)
Studio: Fox Searchlight Pictures

The Plot: The weeks leading up to a young couple's wedding is comic and stressful, especially as their respective fathers (Whitaker and Mencia) try to lay to rest their long-standing feud.

THE BUZZ: Not to oversimplify things here, but it's surprising how long it has taken other studios (aside from Lionsgate) to reach the audience that Tyler Perry entertains once or twice a year. The relatable premise, combined with a cast of big- and small-screen stars and the savvy marketing of Fox Searchlight could yield a wintry blockbuster.

Tell Me

Tell Me

Director: Massy Tadjedin
Stars: Keira Knightley, Sam Worthington, Eva Mendes (Full Cast)
Studio: Miramax Films

The Plot: A romantic drama centered on a married man (Worthington) who resists certain temptations while away on business; back at home, his wife (Knightley) crosses paths with a former lover.

Photos (see all 7 | slideshow)

THE BUZZ: What's this -- an original screenplay from a female director? Miramax must have some sort of artsy deathwish, and we're so excited to see the on-screen pairing of Knightley and Worthington! Fold Eva Mendes into the mix and we don't know which was is up anymore. If the idea of Keira looking equal parts forlorn and neurotic intrigues you, here's a first look.

Season of the Witch

Season of the Witch

Director: Dominic Sena
Stars: Nicolas Cage, Ron Perlman, Claire Foy (Full Cast)
Studio: Lionsgate

The Plot: 14th-century knights transport a suspected witch to a monastery, where monks deduce her powers could be the source of the Black Plague.

Videos (see all 4 NEW)
Season of the Witch (2010) -- Season of the Witch Trailer - Nicolas Cage stars as a 14th century Crusader who returns with his comrade to a homeland devastated by the Black Plague. A beleaguered church, deeming sorcery the culprit of the plague, commands the two knights to transport an accused witch to a remote abbey, where monks will perform a ritual in hopes of ending the pestilence.
Season of the Witch (2010) -- A first-look at the movie Season of the Witch.
Season of the Witch (2010) -- AllTrailers.net - Trailer (Flash)

THE BUZZ: Sounds like the beginning of a decent SyFy program, but as a feature film -- really? I thought Lionsgate was restructuring itself as the studio of can't-miss horror flicks and Tyler Perry movies. This one must have slipped through a Medieval crack or something. In truth, it's part of a new deal for the studio (which you can read about here) but this isn't the the most promising step forward, by my estimate.

Clash of the Titans

Clash of the Titans

Director: Louis Leterrier
Stars: Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes (Full Cast)
Studio: Warner Bros. Pictures

The Plot: In a loose adaptation from Greek mythology, Perseus (Worthington) who was born of a god but raised as a man, sets off on an epic mission to combat Hades (Fiennes) before he can seize power from Zeus (Neeson) and unleash hell on earth.

Clash of the Titans (2010) -- Cine.gr - Trailer (Flash)

THE BUZZ: Wah! There was no Titans footage at Comic-Con 2009, save a brief message from Sam Worthington while he was on set -- but that was to promote Avatar! This remake has been around for a while -- the better part of the decade -- with Stephen Norrington once aboard to direct (eek). Most people know that this project jumped off the block faster than the seemingly delayed/troubled/Tarsem Singh-helmed War of Gods, but did you know that director Louis Leterrier went on record to say the original CotT inspired his Hulk remake?

How to Train Your Dragon (2010) -- A boy and a dragon become unlikely friends in this trailer for the animated comedy
How to Train Your Dragon (2010) -- Movieplayer.it - Italian Trailer (Flash)

THE BUZZ: It's so worth celebrating the long-awaited return of Lilo & Stitch co-directors Dean DeBlois & Chris Sanders to the animated world (though DeBlois did make Heima, a stellar documentary on the band Sigur Ros). DreamWorks Animation has been on a roll since Kung Fu Panda, and the fan reaction to Dragon's teaser art (located above) was strong, so I think we can expect a full-on marketing blitz, awkward promotional tie-ins included. For example: "Train your thirst at 7-11."

Hot Tub Time Machine

Hot Tub Time Machine

Director: Steve Pink
Stars: John Cusack, Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson (Full Cast)
Studio: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM)

The Plot: Four guys travel back to their respective 80s heydays thanks to a time-bending hot tub.

Videos (see all 2)
Hot Tub Time Machine (2010) -- After a night of drinking Red Bull and vodkas, a group of guys travel back in time to when they were younger cads.
Hot Tub Time Machine (2010) -- Movieplayer - Trailer (Flash)

THE BUZZ: Hot Tub's redband trailer is just about the most limp stab at R-rated comedy in recent memory, and the current attempts to capture the cheese-innoncence-sleaze of '80s sex comedies, a la Hardbodies, have all come up short. Though I'm still wondering why the reunion of Jon Cusack and Steve Pink is looking so lowbrow? These dudes worked together on Grosse Pointe Blank and High Fidelity, for Rob Gordon's sake!
