Battle for Terra

The peaceful inhabitants of the planet Terra find themselves under attack from the last members of humankind, who are struggling to survive aboard their aging spaceship. Trying to prevent an all-out battle are an injured space explorer (voice of Luke Wilson) and a rebellious young Terrian (voice of Evan Rachel Wood), whose friendship might convince their respective leaders that war is not the answer.

It can't be easy to market a movie about cocaine. Perhaps that's why Summit has a barely there approach to promoting this one. Too bad, because we're really looking forward to it. Or maybe we're just being paranoid. We get motor-mouthed about the movie here.

We, perhaps like you, are a bit put off by the broad humor wrapped around an indie package here. But there's something about both Jennifer Aniston and Steve Zahn that's near impossible to dislike. We have more conflicted thoughts about the comedy.

Terminator Salvation

John Connor (Christian Bale) is joined in his attempt to defeat Skynet and its army of Terminators by Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a man who apparently has been rescued from the past, though Connor wonders if instead he's been sent from the future as a foil to his plan. As Connor and Wright push deep into the heart of Skynet, they get closer and closer to learning the secret behind the organization's mission to wipe humankind off the planet.

With Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger both making appearances (of sorts) in McG's first Terminator offering (Warner Bros. is giving his sequel a flashing green light, too), we're beyond excited to see these results. A musician (Masahiro Motoki) who is jobless after his orchestra is dissolved moves back to hometown with his wife (Ryoko Hirosue) for a fresh start, a move which introduces him to an unusual profession: an "encoffineer," one who prepares the deceased for burial and entry into the next life.
